About us

The estimating department you did not have to hire

K2E (Knowledge to Estimate) was built for general contractors who are growing faster than their estimating can keep up. You send the plans; an experienced human estimator prices the work to your template and hands it back, bid-ready, the next business day.

No offshore takeoff mill, no machine output to double-check. Real estimators, on demand, for as much or as little as you need.

Areas we serve

Estimating services near you

We work with general contractors across the country. These are the markets we know best, but the remote process is the same everywhere.

K2E works like our own estimating department. We send plans, they send back numbers we can actually bid with, and subs to back them up.

Common questions

Before you send anything over

Is this AI, or real people?

Real people. Every K2E estimate is prepared and reviewed by an experienced human estimator. We are not a takeoff tool you have to babysit, and we do not hand you a machine output to sanity-check yourself.

How fast do I get the estimate back?

Next business day for most residential and light commercial work. Larger multifamily and commercial packages can take longer, and we tell you the turnaround before we start rather than after.

What do you need from me to start?

Plans and whatever scope information you already have. Full construction documents are ideal, but we regularly work from schematic drawings, a scope sheet, or photos from a site walk. If something critical is missing we will ask rather than guess.

Will the estimate match how my company already bids?

Yes. We build in your template, using your unit costs and your historical pricing where you have them. The output should look like your own estimator produced it, not like an outside vendor's format you have to retype.

What does it cost?

Pricing is custom and depends on project size, scope, and how often you send work. There is no set menu. Most contractors start with a free sample estimate to see the quality first, and we scope pricing from there.

Do you only work with contractors in Massachusetts?

No. K2E works with general contractors across the United States. The whole process is remote, so where your jobsite is has no bearing on turnaround. Our team is based in the Boston area, which is simply where the company operates from.
